AI commentator for CS2 streams
Colorcast listens to Counter-Strike 2's game state feed and has an original AI character react out loud to your kills, headshots, deaths and rounds, usually about a second after they happen. No key to press.
What it reacts to
- Your kills, with headshots called out and the weapon in your hands.
- Your deaths.
- Every round won or lost, with the score.
- The match result.
Everything else is yours to call: press a hotkey or a Stream Deck key, or say it into your mic ("clutch", "he's one HP", "that was lag"). The Counter-Strike preset knows moments like multikill, clutch, choke, flank, rush and snipe, and the commentator writes a fresh line for each one.
How it connects
Game State Integration (GSI) is a feature Valve built into Counter-Strike: the game sends match data to a local address listed in a small config file. Colorcast runs that receiver on your PC and turns changes in the feed into moments.
- In Colorcast, open Triggers and turn on Counter-Strike 2 (Game State Integration) in the Game adapters card.
- Click Copy CS2 config and save it as
gamestate_integration_colorcast.cfginSteam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo\cfg\. - Restart CS2 and start a match. The card switches to live when the first update arrives.
Backup option: launch the game with -condebug and use the console-log adapter instead. It only sees the kill feed.
On stream
Narration plays on the audio output you pick. Add the OBS overlay for captions and the AI badge, and let Colorcast duck your game audio while the commentator talks.
Free tier, no card. Game events are part of Creator and Pro; hotkeys, Stream Deck and mic callouts work on every plan.
Counter-Strike is a trademark of its owner. Colorcast is not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve.
Questions
Is Game State Integration allowed?
It is Valve's own documented feature for tools like overlays and lighting. Colorcast only receives what the game chooses to send and never reads or changes game memory. We can't speak for Valve's anti-cheat, but GSI is the route Valve provides.
Does it narrate other players?
It narrates you. The config asks for your own player state, the map and the round, so the commentator reacts to your kills, deaths and results.
How fast does it react?
Usually about a second from the kill to the first word, depending on your connection. Lines stream as they are written and spoken.
Which plan do I need?
Game events are part of Creator and Pro. On Free you can still trigger every moment with hotkeys, Stream Deck and mic callouts.
